Art
The focus of this class is to show the importance of visual arts to each student. Class objective is to expose students to art within the community, the state, and the world, while developing skills that can be used in many different ways. The students are encouraged to visit museums and art galleries, keep a personal sketchbook and portfolio, take outside classes, research famous artists for class reports and participate in performing arts groups.
Art uses a variety of medium paint, pen/ink, pastels, chalk, colored paper, clay, natural fibers, and charcoal. Students' projects over the years have included basketry, masks, weaving on a floor loom, watercolors, pop art, food compositions, the art of heraldry, self portraits, and stained glass
